Real Estate News from the Hamptons and North Fork

- Art Southampton, July 23, 2013

Understanding the natural synergy between fine art and luxury real estate, Brown Harris Stevens of the Hamptons is proud to be a Sponsoring Partner of the Art Southampton International Contemporary & Modern Art Fair in Southampton, NY. The fair features a carefully selected group of more than 85 international art galleries with a strong focus on works from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The fair’s opening VIP Preview on July 25 will continue to benefit the Southampton Hospital and provide the perfect backdrop as a kickoff event for the summer’s most important art event in the Hamptons. The 2012 VIP Preview attracted more than 3,600 collectors, art advisors, curators, designers and Southampton Hospital supporters; the overall five-day fair attracted more than 11,500 attendees.

“We are very pleased to support Art Southampton in its second year. As the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate and with close ties to Christie’s auction house, we are especially excited to be a part of the premiere art fair of the Hamptons,” stated Cia Comnas, Executive Managing Director of Brown Harris Stevens of The Hamptons. Drawing upon their success as one of the world’s oldest art auction houses, Christie’s implemented an innovative real estate venture in 1995 – Christie’s International Real Estate. The marketing of fine art and high-end properties proved to be a natural combination, resulting in a real estate marketing powerhouse driven by the passion and success of the Christie’s name and the local connections and expertise of seasoned brokers.

In East Hampton, a recently completed Modern home is attracting attention for its artistic design and unique features. Represented by John Lizars of Brown Harris Stevens, the dazzling house on nearly 3 acres features a waterfall from the roof cascading into a reflecting pool, a glass-encased stair tower, a glass-floored bridge to a media room, and a two-story living room with a fireplace and stainless steel spiral staircase to a private balcony.

Also exhibiting a masterful design ideal for showcasing fine art, a beautiful 6,000 square-foot contemporary home in Sagaponack, listed by Christine Saar of Brown Harris Stevens, is located on over 3 acres of resplendent gardens and sweeping lawns, complete with a private pond, Har-Tru tennis cour and heated saltwater pool. The generously proportioned living spaces are infused with natural light and the beautiful wood floors and millwork throughout complement the artwork adorning the walls.

At the Art Southampton pavilion there will be 100,000-square-foot of exhibition space as well as curated outdoor projects. The event will take place from July 25 through the July 29th and will once again be located on the sprawling 18-acre estate property behind the Southampton Elks Lodge and adjacent to the Southampton Golf Club.

The pavilion will offer amenities for all guests and a unique ambiance and design that is unrivaled by any other art fair in the Hamptons. Ample on-site parking and valet service will be available.
