WAINSCOTT, NY: Wainscott real estate consists of luxury summer rentals, estate properties for sale, summer cottages and year-round homes for sale, primarily nestled amid bucolic farmlands and along stately lanes leading to the ocean.

Located in the heart of the Hamptons in between East Hampton and Sagaponack, and approximately 100 miles from Manhattan, the unincorporated hamlet of Wainscott is part of the Town of East Hampton and is known for its quiet country lanes, the rural beauty of its many farms and its white, sandy ocean beaches.

Wainscott Main Street includes the turn-of-the-century Wainscott Chapel, the iconic Wainscott School which covers grades 1 through 4, the Osborne Farm complete with vast strawberry patches during the season, and a host of other historic houses, horse farms, actively cultivated fields and farm stands. Nearby, in the small commercial center in Wainscott, the freshest seafood can be found at The Seafood Shop, while freshly baked bagels and other delights can be purchased at Twice Upon a Bagel. Hand crafted baked goods are available at Breadzilla and for a full menu the Highway Diner and Bar is an ever-popular destination.

Wainscott encompasses the tony Georgica Association, Sayre’s Path, and other bucolic lanes both north and south of the highway, as well as coveted Beach Lane which showcases fine country homes and ends at one of the most pristine Hamptons beaches. Known also for many years as home to cosmetics giant Estee Lauder whose family continues to be active in land preservation throughout Wainscott, its peaceful, relaxed country ambience makes Wainscott a highly desirable Hamptons destination.
